Please note that final year Kinesiology students that have completed work Integrated placements. conduct exercise assessments under the supervision of a licensed physiotherapist. In addition BWP Kinesiologists, Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapist may also conduct assessments.

Sally-Anne Stelling is a Physiotherapist and exercise lead at the BC Brain Wellness Program. Having obtained a Physiotherapy degree from Pretoria University, she has worked in South Africa, Scotland and Canada in both public health and private practice and has experience in acute care, long term rehabilitation and outpatient care. Sally is passionate about helping people function to the best of their ability, to facilitate and improve functional movement and assist people in reaching their goals. Sally is to the instructor for Exercise Management of Chronic Neurological Balance and Mobility Conditions. This course supports the education of kinesiology students and allows participants in the BWP to benefit from close supervision and support when exercising. Her role includes education of students, program development, program growth and expansion, knowledge translation and integration of current evidence into practice. Sally serves as the Co-Director for the BCBWP at UBC, where her work is centred on forging and nurturing robust relationships with community partners and key stakeholders.

Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CSEP 32386)

Leah joined the BC Brain Wellness Program in January 2024 and is now a CSEP certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the team. She recently completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia, specializing in Neuromechanical and Physiological Sciences. Leah works one-on-one with participants in the program’s new Kinesiology offering, teaches group exercise classes both in person and online, and contributes to ongoing research initiatives.

Leah is deeply passionate about supporting individuals living with neurological conditions and believes strongly in the power of movement to enhance independence, confidence, and overall well-being. She is continually inspired by the participants she works with and strives to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where everyone feels empowered to explore their physical potential. Her work is grounded in the belief that personalized, evidence-informed exercise can be a powerful tool for both prevention and rehabilitation.

Outside of work, Leah enjoys spending time with friends and family, walking her dog, and relaxing at the beach.
